At St Joseph's, we focus on providing students with a holistic education that meets their needs and equips them with the knowledge and skills to make a positive contribution to the community as a St Joseph’s College Graduate.
Our college works closely with our parish, families, and local community to educate young people to make a difference. With Christ as our guiding light and inspired by St Mary MacKillop of the Cross, we aim to recognise, appreciate, and develop the gifts and talents of everyone in our care, and enliven our motto, 'Courage to love, learn and serve’.
We are dedicated to fostering a love of learning and personal excellence in our students. Our committed teachers provide excellent educational opportunities and a deep understanding of the Catholic worldview. We uphold high standards and expectations, ensuring every student is invited and supported to reach their highest potential and make a meaningful difference in the world.
At St Joseph's, we guide students through their educational journey from Prep to Year 12, tailoring our educational practices to the developmental phases of learning:
- Foundations (Prep to Year 2): Building a strong foundation in core literacy and numeracy skills while developing new knowledge and understanding.
- Curiosity (Years 3 to 6): Encouraging curiosity and exploration in learning whilst continuing to develop mastery of essential skills.
- Inquiry (Years 7 to 9): Fostering a spirit of inquiry and deeper understanding
- Enterprise (Years 10 to 12): Preparing students for the challenges of an ever-changing workforce by fostering enterprise pathways and innovation.
As students advance through their educational journey, they gain increasing levels of agency and accountability as they strive to master core literacy, numeracy, and metacognitive skills. This progression includes explicit teaching of positive behaviours, ensuring that all students experience success and are well-prepared for the challenges of an ever-changing workforce beyond school.
I warmly invite parents and carers new to our community, or those considering joining us, to visit our college and experience our welcoming environment and outstanding facilities. To arrange a tour, please reach out to our Enrolments Officer, who will be delighted to assist you and answer any questions you may have.
I welcome all families to join us at St Joseph's College. By working together, we can guide students through their education and developmental journey. We can shape and challenge our young people to achieve their personal best and live life to the full as Christ intended.
